National Team announced – UCI Track World Champs (POL)

Cycling South Africa announces that the following two riders have been selected to represent South Africa at the 2019 UCI Track Cycling World Championships presented by Tissot, which will be held in Pruszkow (Poland) from 27 February to 3 March.

Jean Spies: Kilometre Time Trial, Keirin and Match Sprint.

Charlene Du Preez: 500 Metre Time Trial, Keirin and Match Sprint.

Arena Pruszków is one of the most modern cycling circuits in the world. It is also the only indoor cycling track in Poland. This multi-purpose sports and entertainment hall was commissioned in 2008 and also serves as the home of the Polish Cycling Association.

Made from Siberian pine, the track measures 250 metres. The stands surrounding it can accommodate nearly 1500 cycling fans.
