Tour du Rwanda 2024 Team Announcement

Cycling South Africa is happy to unveil the selected team for the upcoming 16th edition of the Tour du Rwanda.

We take immense pleasure in announcing the riders who will proudly represent South Africa in this challenging tour, set to unfold across eight stages from February 18th to 25th, covering a formidable total distance of 740km. The lengthiest stage will span over 163km.

Elite Men:

  • Pedri Crause
  • Daniel Loubser
  • Eric Kros
  • Dillon Geary
  • Tyler Lange
  • Morne van Niekerk (Non Traveling Reserve)
 

Management:

  • Timothy Kock – Team Manager
  • Fabrice Ndagijimana – Local Mechanic

 

A prominent highlight of this edition is the demanding ascent of Mount Kigali, renowned as one of the most arduous routes, promising to be the ultimate test for cyclists in the 2024 Tour du Rwanda. With 16 teams already confirming their participation, including professional outfits like Israel Premier Tech and Total Energies, as well as continental and national representations, the competition is set to be diverse and highly competitive.

The stages are as follows:

  1. Stage 1: BK Arena – KCC Roundabout (Team Time Trial: 18km)
  2. Stage 2: Muhanga – Kibeho: 130km
  3. Stage 3: Huye – Rusizi: 141km
  4. Stage 4: Karongi – Rubavu: 92km
  5. Stage 5: Musanze – Kinigi (Individual Time Trial: 13km)
  6. Stage 6: Musanze – Mont Kigali: 93km
  7. Stage 7: Rukomo (Gicumbi) – Kayonza: 163km
  8. Stage 8: Kigali Convention Center – Kigali Convention Center: 90km
