Meet the athlete:

How long have you been cycling for?

Nearly 20 years.

How did you get into the sport?

Cycling has been a part of my life since my dad taught me to ride a bike at age 3. It became a serious passion when I started competing at the provincial and national levels in mountain biking at the age of 10. A few years later, I also began road cycling, and my love for the sport has only grown since then.

Top Results in Cycling:

  • 23 National titles across Road and Mountain Bike
  • Five participations at the World Championships for both Mountain Bike and Road
  • Two gold medals at the 2019 African Games for Mountain Bike and Team Time Trial
  • 3rd place on Stage 3 of the 2023 UCI 2.2 Tour de Feminin Road Race in Czech Republic

What does it mean to represent SA at the Olympic Games?

Racing for the British-based DAS-Hutchinson-Brother Women’s UCI Continental team on the road, qualifying for the Olympics is an absolute dream come true! I have dreamt about going to the Olympics since I started cycling, and to have it happen this year is a surreal feeling. I am really determined to give it my all at this race, wearing my country’s flag with pride.
