UCI LEVEL 1 ONLINE COACHING COURSE

The UCI level 1 coaching course is the entry qualification for coaches and focuses on the foundations of coaching. The knowledge that is gained on this course is fundamental to ensuring coaching is appropriate for the riders and for each cycling discipline. Coaches will learn the fundamentals of technique that is consistent in all cycling activities and how to deliver effective coached sessions.

2021 SA NATIONAL ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIPS – DATE CHANGE

The CyclingSA MTB commission, together with Iron Throne Bike Park, has taken the decision to postpone the 2021 National Enduro Championships scheduled to take place from 2 – 3 October 2021 in Hartbeespoort, North West province due to unforeseen technical challenges.

TOKYO OLYMPIC GAMES – WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY (XCO)

Having proved herself to be a tenacious rider both on and off road, we look forward to cheering on Candice Lill as she punches out the watts on the challenging IZU XCO course. Rainfall is expected overnight and during the course of race day which could dramatically change line choice and test the skills of the best XCO Women in the world in their hunt for gold.

TOKYO OLYMPIC GAMES – MTB CROSS COUNTRY (XCO)

The new 4.1km man-made Izu XCO course has 180m ascent per lap, and is said to be harder than previous Olympic XCO courses. The course boasts many features, including big rock gardens, drops, and plenty of rocks. Sections to look out for are Amagigoe, Joren-no-taki, Chopsticks, Sakura Drop, Wasabi, Odoriko Trail, Izu Peninsula and Karesansui.

EIGHT SOUTH AFRICANS SET TO MAKE THEIR DEBUT AT THE 2021 UCI MTB WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Eight of the 23 riders selected to represent South Africa at this year’s UCI MTB World Championships will be making their debut appearances at a UCI World Championship event.
