The Cervélo Bigla Pro Cycling Team continues with the UCI Women’s World Tour calendar this week when the Giro d'Italia Internazionale Femminile kicks off on 6 July.
The team heads into the race off the back of a very successful national championship campaign where it won five titles along with two further medals.
With 10 days of racing, the Giro Rosa is the only Grand Tour on the women’s calendar. The race will offer a variety of disciplines this year.
“We have a very balanced team for the characteristics of this year’s race,” team manager, Thomas Campana said. “It’s good to see that the race is logistically easier than last year as we are only racing in the north of Italy. With all the different stages, sprint stages, real climbing stages, we have many options and may aim for a good GC result as well.”
The variety of stages include an opening team time trial over 15.5 kilometres on Friday, an individual time trial later one plus the much talked about Monte Zoncolan mountain stage.
