South African team competing in FISU Student World Champs

University Sport South Africa (USSA) announces the road cycling team that has been selected to represent South Africa at the FISU World University Championships (WUC) taking place in Braga, Portugal, from 31 July to 4 August 2018. USSA is an Associate Member of Cycling South Africa and is an independently administered organisation.

The cycling competition begins on Tuesday 31 July with the Individual Time Trial, which covers a distance 27 kilometres for the men and 18 kilometres for the women along a route measuring 8.63km – the men complete three laps and the women complete two laps. This takes place between Rua José Afonso Machado and Variant do Fojo in Braga.

The Road Race takes place on Saturday 4 August, with the women competing on a distance of 93.91km and the men – 126.37km.
