ATTENTION: Bring your timing chips to the SA Road Champs!

The 2017 SA National Road and Para-cycling Championships is almost upon us, and accommodation in the Wellington and surrounding areas has filled up quickly due to the large amount of entries ahead of next week’s event in the Western Cape, from 7-12 February.

Cycling South Africa urges all participants that took part in the 2016 Road Championships, who were issued with Mobii timing chips, to please ensure that you bring them with you to be used at this year’s event.

Riders and spectators alike have begun to flock to the province to prepare for what will be one of the largest events of Cycling South Africa’s 2017 calendar, where the country’s best cyclists will battle it out for a chance to be crowned National Champion. Adding to the excitement of the event, is the new partnership between Cycling South Africa and Anatomic Sportswear, bringing brand new National Champion jerseys to be launched at the Championships.

The Western Cape boasts some of the most spectacular wine farms and breath-taking views in the country, providing for the riders and their friends and family a fantastic racing venue and magnificent attractions to visit.

Elite races on both Saturday and Sunday will be live streamed on, and all of the races will be live-timed via the Mobii timing system, which can be tracked online. There will be also timing chips available to use but a R100 refundable deposit will be required.
