Alfabodyworks 2nd in Coronation DC

On Thursday evening the 24th of November 2016 Alfabodyworks revealed their new kit and sponsors at a Pasta Evening at the Alfabodyworks Work Shop.

Affectionately known as the Peoples Team  Alfabodyworks Pro Cycling were proud to announce their line-up of riders and new sponsors for 2017.

The ethos of this team is to provide a platform for young and up and coming talent in the Western Cape, highlighted at present by Nicol Carstens and Abdul Muttalib Sauls, leading and second in their respective categories in the race for the PPA bursaries - a new initiative started by the PPA this year.

The team will use Blue Flag clothing this year and will be sponsored with Catlike Shoes, Helmets and Glasses from Absolute Motion.

Another huge sponsor to add this year is Ferrari SA,  which clearly shows our intent for the new year.

With the addition of some Telkom riders namely Nolan Hoffman, Reynard Butler, HB Kruger and ex European pro Peter Lee Jefferies to our current team (Nicol Carstens, Brandon Christians, Hans Werner Heuer, Campbell Cerff, Jarrod Hattingh, Robert du Preez and Joshua Francis) we were confident of a bold showing in the Coronation DC this year.

The Team produced an amazing effort at the Coronation DC considering we did not have a full team up until Thursday after two riders had to change their arrangements and this team had not done one training ride together.  We knew that a top five was possible but second place was beyond our wildest dreams, with five under 23 riders.

A huge thank you to Nolan Hoffman, Reynard Butler, Graeme Ockhuis, Corne Helberg, HB Kruger and Peter-Lee Jefferies, who we hoping to sign this week.

To our own riders Campbell Cerff, Hans Heuer, Nicol Carstens, Brandon Christians, Robert du Preez and Joshua Francis - you all gave all you could to the cause and the Team are very proud of these young men. We stand to be corrected but we are almost certain this was the youngest team on the Podium.

To Muneeb and Shameeg Fataar - thanks for the faith you have in this team and to our sponsors.....Absolute motion....Henkel....Ferrari....Bidvest McCarthy.....the best is yet to come from these young men.
