Track team announcement for 2017 Masters World Championships (USA)

Cycling South Africa’s Track Commission has great pleasure in announcing that the following riders have been selected to represent South Africa at the 2017 UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships in Los Angeles, USA, from 8-15 October.

Competitors will be heading to the USA where the UCI Masters Track Cycling World Championships will be held in 2017 and 2018. The VELO Sports Center plays host to the event, which is open to men and women riders of 35 years of age and older. Three sprint events (match sprints, 500-750-1000m time trial, team sprint) and four endurance events (pursuit, scratch race, points race, and team pursuit) will make up the programme of events.

The track is a 250-metre wooden track with a maximum of 45-degree banking in the turns having shorter turns and longer straights than the Manchester velodrome, where previous competitions were held.
