The South African team departs on 15 August for Baie Comeau, Canada to participate in the UCI 2010 road and time trial Paracycling World Championships.
The team includes handcyclists:
Ernst van Dyk
The team management includes
Mike Burns (Manager)
Elrick Kulsen (Coach)
Melvin Claasen (Mechanic)
Elmari Smit (Physiotherapist)
Given the high UCI world rankings of a number of the team members, there is potential for a number of medals to be earned by the South Africans. The routes selected for the road race and time trial at Baie Comeau are technically challenging, with significant hill climbs.
In particular, this suits Ernst van Dyk who regards climbing as the competitive advantage he has over other gold medal challengers.
