Meet the athlete:

How long have you been cycling for:

I really can’t remember a time when I wasn’t on my bike. I’ve been ‘racing’ since I was a kid and competitively at varying levels for 13 years.

Journey into the Cycling:

I got into the sport as a girl who rode bicycles on the farm with her cousins. I’ve always had a love for it. I did my first local race when I was 11 and although I participated in many other sports in school, I was always riding and racing a bike whenever I could. My dad played a massive role in my development early on and took me to races all over the country.

Top Results in Cycling:

My top results include a recent 3rd place at the Val di Sole XCO MTB World Cup and a 4th place finish in the XCC.

I also secured a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and a silver medal at the 2023 XCM World Championships in Scotland. Additionally, I am a multiple SA and African Continental Champion in XCO, XCC, and XCM.

What does it mean to represent South Africa at the Olympic Games:

Representing South Africa at the Olympic Games is the pinnacle of my career and an immense honour. It’s a dream come true to compete at the highest level and showcase my passion and dedication to cycling on the world stage.
