Continuing the hard work of the CyclingSA MTB Commission, we are excited to announce the details of the 2021 SA Gravity calendar. There is a resurgence of events for 2021, with valuable UCI points up for grabs.

CyclingSA, the provincial bodies and event organisers will continue to ensure compliance with government regulations during the coronavirus pandemic to ensure safe participation for all involved.

30 – 31 January 2021: DH Cup #1, Afriski, Lesotho

Not only does the first round of the DH series have a ski-lift (towbar), but it also represents the first UCI Cat 2 Downhillevent in many years. This means that the respective riders vying for a place on the SA Downhill team have an early opportunity to score UCI and valuable CSA selection points towards their campaigns.

The event has also confirmed that although a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of your leaving SA is required to enter Lesotho, this is valid for 14 days of entry – so riders will be cleared to participate in the event, and return to SA on the same test.

– More details are available on Afriski’s website and Facebook page (Afriski.net) or by contacting Peter Peyper via [email protected]

6 – 7 March 2021: DH Cup #2 and SA DOWNHILL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, Giba Gorge KZN
