COVID-19 LEVEL 4 UPDATE

Following the announcement by President Ramaphosa on Thursday 23 April, we have been in discussions as to how the transition to Level 4 lockdown will impact the cycling community.

Cycling South Africa has put forward motivation and recommendations to the Minister of Sport for cycling during Level 4 lockdown.

We have also made a request that bicycle retailers be allowed to trade under strict health and safety guidelines. Should this not be permitted, we have requested the alternative of allowing trade through online orders and deliveries of equipment directly to residences.

As soon as we have received clarity from the Minister of Sport, we will share the information.

We would like to thank the many individuals who have reached out to us and our affiliates seeking clarification on the easing of regulations to allow exercise.

We appeal to all cyclists to continue to adhere to the guidelines as set out by the government. We share in your excitement to go out for a ride but until we receive the green light, please stay on your indoor trainers.
