Moolman-Pasio continues to make waves in Europe

Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (Bigla Pro Cycling Team) flew South Africa’s flag high last week when she turned out excellent results at the recent Giro Rosa women’s road cycle tour in Italy, the largest race on the Women’s cycling calendar, from 4-12 July 2015. Moolman-Pasio finished in fifth place on the last stage of the tour, which placed her in fourth overall on the General Classification after her week of hard racing.

In a recent press release from her team, Moolman-Pasio said: “Everything was great, from the team support to the equipment. It makes all the difference. I did my best every day to just stay in contention and not lose too much time.

“Giro Rosa was an incredible experience this year. It’s really the best Giro I’ve had this far. I think the rest of the season is going to be great and it’s a privilege to have the support of such amazing girls in the team and incredible staff. Overall I am happy.”

Cycling SA congratulates Ashleigh on her remarkable achievements this season, and wishes her the best of luck for her next race, the Internationale Thuringen Rundfahrt der Frauen, which takes place in Germany, from 17-23 July 2015.
