World Champion Lemmer to defend title at World Masters Track Champs

The 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Masters Championships will be taking place this year at the Manchester Velodrome, Great Britain, from 1-8 October. Track enthusiasts that will be going over to represent South Africa are looking forward to their trip next week, and hope to return with promising results. Some of these riders are first-timers to a World Championship, and some, such as World Champion Ilna Lemmer, return to battle it out with some of the best in the world once again.

The South African Track Grand Prix (UCI CL2) and National Series take place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, at the Cyril Geoghegan Cycle Track from 7-9 August 2016. Founder of the VWE Cycling Academy and former National Track cycling Champion, Martin van Wyk, is eager to see the direction that track cycling has taken since South African National Track Championships that took place in Port Elizabeth in April.
