Meet the athlete:

How long have you been cycling for?

Nearly 30 years. I’ve been racing since the age of 6, which means I have 28 years of racing experience.

Journey into the sport?

I started cycling at the age of 6, inspired by my father who was also a cyclist. Throughout my career, I have explored every discipline the sport has to offer in South Africa. Eventually, I discovered my passion for track cycling, where I began specializing in sprint and keirin events.

What are your top results in cycling?

Some of my most notable achievements include:

  • Tokyo 2020 Olympian
  • 19th place at the World Championships in 2023
  • 11th overall at the UCI Track Champions League in 2023
  • 13th place at the Milton Nations Cup (World Cup) in 2024

What does it mean to represent SA at the Olympic Games?

Paris 2024 will be my second Olympic Games. As a donation-funded athlete, reaching this milestone is incredibly meaningful to me. It represents not only my personal dedication and hard work but also the unwavering support of those who have believed in and supported my career and dreams. I am excited and proud to don the Green and Gold on the world’s biggest stage.
