Empowering Cycling Leaders: Highlights from Cycling South Africa’s Training Programs

In our ongoing commitment to strengthen and enrich our training programs, the third quarter of the year has been marked by diligent efforts in compiling reports and strategic planning for the year ahead, alongside the closing of the financial year. We are thrilled to announce significant progress in our Capacity Building Project, showcasing our dedication to fostering excellence within the cycling community.

Online B+C Managers Courses: Empowering Cycling Leaders

Our online Manager’s Courses, held on January 13, 2024, and March 16, 2024, have garnered remarkable interest and participation, with a total of 51 individuals engaging in pursuit of their managerial licenses. The courses were lauded for their interactive nature, fostering rich discussions and active engagement among participants. Despite logistical challenges in coordinating exam invigilation across various regions, we are actively working to streamline this process to ensure a seamless experience for all future participants.

Level 1 Coaches Course: Setting the Standard for Excellence

The Level 1 Coaches Course, conducted online from February 19 to March 19, 2024, marked the inception of UCI courses hosted by Cycling South Africa for the year. With 28 enthusiastic participants enrolled, we are proud to report a success rate of 85%, with 24 individuals successfully completing the course and demonstrating their commitment to honing their coaching skills. For those who encountered challenges, we remain steadfast in our support, offering guidance and assistance to help them achieve their goals.

Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Excellence

As we reflect on the achievements of the past quarter, we recognize the ongoing challenges in logistical coordination, particularly in examination invigilation. However, these hurdles serve as catalysts for innovation and improvement. We are dedicated to overcoming these challenges and are actively implementing measures to ensure the seamless delivery of our training and certification programs in the future.

At Cycling South Africa, we remain steadfast in our mission to empower and uplift the cycling community. Through our Capacity Building Project, we are not only enhancing skills but also fostering a culture of excellence that will propel our sport to greater heights. We extend our gratitude to all participants, facilitators, and staff for their unwavering commitment to this endeavours.
