Dear Cycling SA member,
This notice serves as confirmation of the Cycling South Africa National Road and Time Trial Championships.
Cycling South Africa has been seeking clarity from Confederation Africaine Cyclisme (CAC) regarding the dates of the African Continental Championships for 2023, in order to ensure that we avoid a clash with our National Championship. To date we have still not received any official confirmation as to the date and venue of this event.
We realize that by delaying this decision, it is hampering the preparations of both our athletes and event organizers (Eden cycling.)
Alternate dates where considered, however February and March is a busy period with the Cape Epic, SA Marathon Champs, and other events. Additionally, many international riders will be returning to their European teams early in March.
Therefore, Cycling South Africa has made the decision to continue with our current dates for the Road National Championships of 8-12 Feb 2023.
We thank you for your patience, and while we hope that our dates will be respected by CAC, we realise that a date clash may still regrettably occur.
