CSA and eblockwatch partnership
Estimated Annual costs of operating Cycle line and potential income streams to cover these costs:
Eblockwatch has operated as a community mobilization project since 2001 and will sponsor and sustain the Cycle line project. The project is sustained through the sale of panic buttons to its member base at R30 per button per month, of which it netts approximately R13.
Eblockwatch’s nationwide base of 67,000 members is mobilised via sms to assist fellow eblockwatch members by harnessing the goodwill and the collective clout of the closest community. Many South African lives have been saved from harm and by using Eblockwatch members’ specialised skills South Africa’s most wanted criminals have been tracked down.
SSG is a company which Eblockwatch uses regularly to digitally track down criminals utilising their Memex software. SSG will be on a retainer of R20,000 per month to assist Eblockwatch in the event of a cyclist being hijacked. This amount comes from cyclists’ panic button sales.
Eblockwatch will pay SSG R5 per panic button sold with a maximum of R20,000 per month. Thereafter Eblockwatch will pay CSA the R5 vat inclusive.
Revenue for CSA will depend on the number of registered paying members who sign up on Eblockwatch as cycle members.
4000 paying members @ R5/member will cover operational costs of Eblockwatch. Eblockwatch will sponsor these costs until membership reaches 4000. From 4001 cycle members onwards, CSA will receive R5/ panic button of successful payments. Due to the small amounts paid by each member, Eblockwatch writes off the income of a member who fails to pay but continues to bill them the following month. This has proved successful in the past.
Eblockwatch believes that it can achieve a paying membership of cyclists of at least 20,000 thereby generating an income of R100,000 per month for CSA. When this target is reached Eblockwatch will pay the R20,000 per month to its forensic associates.
CSA is in a position to market this campaign by pulling in brand sponsors, race organisers, club websites, TV shows, etc.
