1893 Mens Amateur Sprint and Motor-Pace begins

1895 Mens Professional Sprint and Motor-Pace begins

1914 Mens Amateur Motor-Pace only

1915-1919 Suspended 5 years for World War 1

1920 Mens Amateur Motor-Pace suspended

1940-1945 Suspended 6 years for World War 2

1946 Mens Amateur Pursuit (4 KM) and Professional Pursuit (5 KM)

1958 Womens Sprint and Pursuit begins, Mens Amateur Motor-Pace (Hour) revived

1962 Mens Amateur Team Pursuit (4 KM) begins

1966 Mens Amateur Kilometer Individual Time Trial (1 KM) and Tandem Sprint begins

1968-1969 Split events: Professional and Olynpic

1972 Mens Amateur events combined with Olympic Games

1978 Mens Points Race begins

1984 Mens Tandem Sprint ends, Team Sprint begins

1993 open category, combining amateurs and professinals

1994 Mens Professional Motor-Pace ends

2007 Mens Omnium begins, with five events
