Cycling South Africa reports that Gordon Gilbert has been found guilty of an anti-doping rule violation after an in-competition test conducted on 13 May 2016 confirmed the presence of Testosterone.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has imposed a period of ineligibility of four years, commencing on 2 March 2017. Mr Gilbert is therefore suspended and prohibited from competing and administering in the sport of Cycling as well as in any other sport in South Africa and Internationally from 2 March 2017 until 1 March 2021.
