Important Information

The Jo’burg Grand Prix and Inter- Provincial 2015 will be held in accordance with the Regulations of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) unless otherwise ruled by the National Federation.


Those riding in categories, namely, Junior, Elite & Veterans must be in possession of a valid CSA Racing License. CSA Membership is required for U16 and below.  All riders must present this license or membership at registration and upon demand during the event. No one day event licenses will be sold.

Riders are not considered registered until all administrative requirements have been fulfilled:

  • Entry form has been completed
  • Indemnity form has been signed
  • Entry fee has been paid in full
  • Cycling SA Track Racing License has been verified

**A Transition Category will be run for those riders new to Track. New local track riders wishing to ride in this category, must have completed a number of sessions with VWE Track Academy and present a Certificate of Competence before being allowed to race. Those from other provinces or regions must present a letter/certificate from their Track Commissioner confirming competency.

VWE Track Academy, will assist those who are new to track wishing to participate in the Transition Category. VWE are based at Hector Norris Park, Turffontein. If you are not already a member and you provide evidence of entry to the Jo’burg Grand Prix, VWE are offering free sessions, and will also provide a bike, if available, in preparation for the event. An assessment will be done to confirm competence and a certificate issued. Where an assessment is done and a certificate cannot be issued, you will be refunded the Grand Prix Entry fee. Registration will take place on Saturday 21st November between 7h00 and 8h30 at Hector Norris Park.

Entry to Hector Norris Park will be charged at R20 a car and will require a Parking Ticket to be presented at the gate upon entry. The parking ticket is available online at or at the gate on the day. If you leave the premises during the event with the intension of returning, please ensure that you are issued with a pass at the gate, which must be re-presented upon re-entry.

Riders participating in prize giving must be in full riding kit going onto the podium.

General Rules

No one except officials, riders going to their starting station, and managers with accreditation will be allowed in the centre of the track.

Accreditation for managers can be obtained at registration Saturday morning 21st November between 7h00 and 8h30, upon presentation of a valid managers CSA license.

No animals will be allowed at Hector Norris Park.
