A new event that is being introduced in 2016 is the KZN Autumn Masters Tour that will be a four-day stage tour and race from 17-20 August that will only be open to amateur Masters riders between the ages of 30 and 80 years – no riders with UCI points will be able to compete and all riders will take part as individuals. The event will see a maximum of 300 x riders in 2016 riding between 110km – 140km (dependent on the route) using Pietermaritzburg and its environs as the event base and different secured routes being ridden on each of the four days. The first portion of each day’s ride will be of a touring nature with the final 50km being the portion that can be raced by those that wish to go for the glory. There will be no prize money on offer but there will be many prizes awarded across a wide range of categories.
