Cycling South Africa’s online community platform, beSpoke, is adding the next dimension to their social community engagement by awarding “wishes” to any member that contributes information and content to the platform.
Over 920 members have signed up to stay abreast with current cycling news on a content-rich platform, generating over 710000 total visits to the site and more than 162000 in the last 30 days alone.
With each post to beSpoke, members earn “wishes”. Cycling SA has lined up some great prizes to the value of 1000 wishes each; with Mountain Bike Series sponsor STIHL offering three high-pressure cleaners up for grabs. In order to be eligible for the prizes, one has to be a current member of Cycling SA at the time of claiming the prize and have generated over 1000 wishes.

Cycling SA General Manager, Mike Bradley, said: “We’ve provided our members with an online platform where they can share their own cycling news. In this way, members can also contribute their own news so that content is not just from the Federation. HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Members can make use of the “Forum” stream to post any cycling news that they find of interest – stories, photos, videos, locations etc. You can view the current streams that are being populated with fresh content, and like or share these posts across prominent social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter. Members can also engage in discussion on the platform by commenting on the posts, with fellow members and with the Federation.
HOW DO I EARN WISHES
Each post that you make will earn you a certain number of wishes. The more posts you make, the more wishes you earn. When you reach 1000 wishes, you can “purchase” a prize that is on offer.
The online platform operates as an effective online tool for members to sort cycling news according to their preference, where you are able to specifically select what type of news you would like to read, or view. Each week, an automated email containing the streams that you have selected, arrives in your inbox to notify you of news from the previous week that appears on the platform.
